A demi parure with granulated decor

Comprising a collier and pair of earrings of 18 and 21k gold. The collier designed as 27 spheres and a drum clasp with fine, ornamental granulation. The stud earrings with a central rosette motif. Collier stamped with fineness 750/900, maker's mark "RG". Collier: L 50 cm. Earrings: Diameter 1.9 cm. Total weight 135 g.
Rolf Goldschmitt (Zurich 1906 - 1968).

The Swiss goldsmith studied at the applied arts academy in Munich from 1922 - 33, and taught the master class for gold and silver smiths as of 1948. He specialised in granulated decor and received numerous awards for his designs, such as a silver medal at the Paris world fair in 1938, and an honorary diploma at the 7th Triennale in Madrid in 1939.
