A London Bracket clock

Of ebonised wood and partially gilt brass. The dial with engraved Latin and Arabic numerals, date aperture, faux pendulum and on-off switch for striking. Eight-day movement with verge escapement, static pendulum and half-hourly striking to a bell. Glazed to four sides. Signed to the dial "Frans Wells London". Old, restored cracks, polychromy retouched, the silk replaced. H 53.2, W 33 cm.
