German mid-16th century

A mid-16th century German carved wood relief of the Adoration of the Magi

The reverse flattened. With older, partially retouched polychromy.. A high relief depiction surrounded by a plain border. The scene in the stable takes place before a hilly landscape in which we see the shepherds, the Kings' retinue, and several buildings.
A vertical crack above the two standing Kings. Minimal wear. 96 x 59 x 7 cm.
