Two altar panels with scenes from the Life of the Virgin, probably Bavarian, 1567

Comprising four sections, the reverse flat and painted with stylised architectural motifs. With partially retouched older polychromy.. The reliefs of the altar panels show the annunciation and the nativity to the upper sections and the flight into Egypt and the circumcision of Christ to the lower sections, whereby the two depictions in the lower sections were exchanged when the pieces were subsequently re-framed. The depiction of the flight into Egypt is dated "1567" to the tree in the upper right. The newer mountings are inscribed "From the Magniac Coll:".
The annunciation and adoration scenes with a vertical crack. Wear with losses. Each wing comprising two panels held together by a metal frame. Each 135 x 61 x 4 cm.
