A sentoku tsuba. Early 19th century

A sentoku tsuba of oval shape with slightly raised rim displaying a crescent moon, two fans and a rat nibbling the cord of the uchiwa fan in relief with details of shakudô, copper and gold, to the reverse a willow tree in engraving. Signed Sadamasa. Early 19th century.
Height 6.8 cm

Okamoto Sadamasa was a pupil of the famous Kusakari Sendai Sadamasa and was almost his equal in skill.
