A Bengali brass figure of a female deity. 18th/19th century

A Bengali brass figure probably of Radha standing on a circular flared base, holding a snake, wearing silver bracelets and anklets, her head with large eyes and silver wire earrings.18th/19th century.
By the addition of a serpent the figure was transformed into Manasadevi, the leader of the snakes.
Height 32 cm

Collection Günter Heil (1938-2014), Berlin, acquired at Sotheby’s, London, 21.10.1993, lot 491 (here describes as “probably Manasa”)
