An Augsburg silver medal commemorating Frederick II's victory in the Silesian Wars

Avers with a portrait of Frederick inscribed "FRIDERICUS MAGNUS REX BORUSSORUM", revers with a figure of Chronos inscribed"SAECULUM FRIDERICI", "VERITATIS PARADOXA" and dated MDCCLVIIII. With signature of the stamp maker Johann Melchior Mörikofer (Bern, 1706 - 61). Containing a series of 39 round engravings depicting battles from the Silesian wars, the lid and base with glued legend and map of Silesia. The glue connecting the engravings partially replaced. Diameter 5 cm, total weight when empty 25 g.
Circa 1760.
