Openface pocketwatch with an armorial cartouche to verso. Finely chased gold face with applied red gold Roman numerals and blued steel hands. Gilt pointed tooth movement with balance cock and diamond cover. Key-winding. In the original box. Case stamped maker's mark London 1848, fineness 18, the plate engraved with dedication "Mary Clements Clay July 1848". Diameter 4 cm. Weight 54 g.
