Literature

An identical ship in the collection of Dr. Ernst Schneider (Rückert, Munich 1966, no. 967) with a similar indistinct sword mark to the underside (presumably also not Meissen), Rückert refers to documentation by Eberlein and Ehder from 1739-43, in which a similar model is described as being made for a dinner service for the Duke of Brühl.
