Oil on canvas 66.5 x 56.7 cm Framed. Monogrammed and dated 'C.B. 38.' in blueish grey lower right and inscribed "nach Foto gemalt" in brown ink verso on upper stretcher bar and inscribed "Carl Buchheister, Hannover", probably by Elisabeth Buchheister. - Fine condition.

New Objectivity portrait of the German avant-garde artist Carl Buchheister who preferred to work in the area of abstract art and founded the artist group "die abstrakten hannover" in the 1920s and became a member of the "Abstraction - Création" in the 1930s.
