A large 18k gold and silver bee brooch

A naturalistic model of a bee, set with rose-cut diamonds, three pink sapphires (central stone ca. 1.25 ct), four calibrated emeralds, and pearls. The large baroque pearl presumably Oriental (ca. 14.6 x 10.8 x 9.8 mm). The pearls replaced with cultured pearls, the eyes with modern replaced brilliant-cut diamonds. One stone shifted in its setting. L 4 cm. Weight 20.6 g.
Last quarter 19th C., with minor ammendments.
