An important pair of Augsburg silver wall appliques

Openwork oval-form cartouche frames finely chased with strapwork, scrolls, acanthus, and flowerheads, and with a large flower-filled shell surmount, over wooden corpus. The undulating leaf-clasped branches terminating in cylindrical nozzles over wide drip pans. One candelabrum with a minor loss to the upper left scroll, the glass replaced. H 58; W 41 cm.
