Unglazed underside with indistinct blue crossed swords mark. Firing crack to the front section of the base, the ears restored, chips to the edges of the roof tiles. H 10.8 cm
Late 1730s / 1740s.

This design was copied from the repertoire of the du Paquier manufactory in Vienna, where it was produced in a slightly larger version of ca. 14 cm (cat.: Fired by Passion Melinda and Paul Sullivan Foundation for the Decorative Arts, Hartford, vol. 3, Stuttgart 2009, no. 484).
Kaendler's workshop records contain an entry from May 1734 "6. Also a dog kennel, designed as if it were made from stones and with a tiled roof." (from the German in: Pietsch ed., Leipzig 2002, p. 23).
