An ivory netsuke illustrating the fairy tale Shitakiri suzume (Tongue-cut Sparrow) with the old woman holding a pair of scissors and sitting on one of the wings of the sparrow whose tongue she is about to slit, the eye pupils of black horn. Signed Yukimasa (=Tadami Uno, geb. 1914). 20th century.
