A German mahogany bureau plat

Brass mountings, parcel gilt, gold embossed leather writing surface (possibly replaced). Narrow, straight apron with three drawers, the central draw with a lock, the two side drawers can be opened via pressure plates. The sides with finely embossed mouldings. Removable tapering fluted square-section legs. Significant signs of wear to the top; some brass mountings loose, lacking, or warped; damage to the drawer fronts. H 76, W 127.5, D 67 cm.
Workshop or follower of David Roentgen, late 18th C.
