A Central German carved wooden figure of Saint Hedwig, 2nd half 15th century

Carved in the round, the reverse flattened and hollowed out. Minimal remains of older polychromy. This pierced relief depicts the widely venerated patron of Silesia. Saint Hedwig was the founder of Trebnitz Abbey, and is here depicted with a church model as well as her other attribute, a pair of shoes, in her right hand.
Two small breakages, wear with minor losses. 67 x 22 x 5.5 cm.
