A well hollowed out ivory ryûsa manjû of a karyôbinga, by Nobu. Mid-19th century

Carved in openwork with a winged karyôbinga holding a mouth organ in both her hands, her elegant body surrounded by billowing scarves and clouds. On the reverse, leaves and kodai môyo motifs. Signed Nobu in an oval reserve.
