A rare ivory netsuke of a karasu tengu with young. Early 19th century

Seated with legs tucked under, the parent tengu protectively places its claws over an egg in front of him, from which a young tengu is about to hatch. The small yamabushi cap of wood, the eye pupils of dark horn.
