A small ivory manjû of Kintoki slaying a boar. Mid-19th century

Carved in deep sunken relief with Kintoki grabbing a boar by its ear and raising his fist to deliver a blow, the animal with very fine hairwork. On the reverse, Kintoki’s axe in engraving.
