A Sinotibetan gilt bronze figure of Mahakala. 19th century

Striding in alidhasana upon a prostrate figure of Vinayaka, holding a curved knife and skull cup in his principle hands, dressed in a tiger skin and adorned with a garland of severed heads and multiple necklaces, the ferocious face with open mouth and bulging eyes surmounted by a skull tiara, the hair rising in flames. Base sealed.
