Seated karako. Ivory. Second half 19th century

Karako seated, clothed only in a short, belted coat. In his left hand, hidden behind his back, he holds a green-coloured, stag antler oni mask. Ivory, very finely carved, engraved, with some dark accents, hair and tufts of hair inlaid in black wood on the forehead and in front of the ears.
