A large Meissen porcelain bowl and cover with famille rose decor

Rounded bowl and domed lid, the finial formed as two chickens. Decorated with peony flowers and Buddhist symbols in four large reserves to the outer sides of the bowl. Blue crossed swords mark, dreher's mark cross in an indentation, underglaze blue mark to the basal ring. The finial restored, the purple pigment of the flowers partially lacking due to the firing process. H 26.8 cm.
