A dated Grassmayr mortar with casts from nature

Cast bronze with mottled brown patina and remnants of silver plating. Cast with scattered motifs to the body: A bird on a flower, tulips, sage leaves and mascarons flanking the date "1668". With owner's monogram "GPS". One dolphin handle. H 18, D 18.8 cm. Weight 5.3 kg. Including a later T-shaped pestle.
