A Thai Ayutthaya life size figure of a Buddha. Thailand. 15th/16th century

Standing on a thin slab, the right hand held forward in abhaya mudra, the left hand hanging down, the diaphanopus garment covering both shoulders and spreading out along the legs, the face with elegant features, the head and ushnisha covered by small curls and surmounted by a ketumala. Remains of gilding, restorations, the feet replaced. With a square moulded bronze base mounted on a wooden stand.
