A stone relief with scenes from Genesis, probably North German, second half 16th century

Presumably sandstone. This relief depicts twenty scenes from the book of Genesis in regularly arranged rectangular fields. The scenes, which are organised chronologically beginning with the creation of the earth in the upper left, are undoubtedly based on motifs from contemporary prints.
Some replaced breakages to the upper edges, three horizontal cracks with signs of restoration. Two metal mountings to the reverse. 50 x 60.5 x 3 cm.
