A Berlin KPM porcelain dessert plate from the first order of the dinner service for Berlin Palace

Model no. 189 with pierced trellis pattern border. The well decorated with a bouquet of poppies and chrysanthemums, scattered flowers, and insects. Blue sceptre mark, impressed marks K o and 3. Minor wear to the gilding. D 25.4 cm.
1768.

In January and February 1786, Friedrich II commissioned his manufactory with the production of a large service for Berlin Palace. He requested it to be "colourfully painted with naturalistic flowers and a few insects alongside a gilt border". The service was delivered the same year.
