A Bolognese 18k gold and coloured gemstone brooch

18k yellow gold brooch shaped like a striding cockerel fully set with 40 faceted rubies, 35 faceted sapphires, and eleven turquoise cabochons. The cockerel's feathers formed from carved sapphires and 17 8/8-cut diamonds. The reverse of the piece pierced and finely engraved. Hallmarks: Italian fineness 750 and ID mark 38 B for Bruno Salvatori, Bologna. H 6 x 6 cm. Weight 33.06 g.
