A French pearl necklace with a diamond and rubelite clasp

A two-stranded pearl necklace comprised of 82/87 regularly shaped pearls (presumably cultured pearls, diameter c. 4.72 – 8.79 mm, cream coloured with fine pinkish grey lustre). The delicate platinum clasp cluster set with a navette-cut pink tourmaline (c. 1.71 ct) surrounded by 14 8/8-cut diamonds (in total c. 0.19 ct, H/I, vs – si), the snap fastening in 18k white gold. Hallmarks: French guarantee for platinum/gold. L clasp 1.9 cm. Total weight 40.75 g.
