An ivory netsuke of a geisha seated on a tengu mask. 19th century

Dressed in a wide kimono with the characteristic obi tied in a large bow, a geisha, possibly Okame, partly covers her face with the wide sleeve in shame at the lustful feelings awakened by the long nose of a mask on which she sits. Very finely carved, engraved and with dark staining. Inscribed Masatoshi.
