An ivory netsuke of a fishing girl with an octopus. Late 19th century

Clad only in a thin skirt, seated on and pulling at the octopus’ scalp whilst the animal makes erotic advances at her with its tentacles. Very finely carved, engraved, the hair and tentacles darkly coloured.
Height 4.5 cm
