A Tokyo school ivory netsuke of a couple washing, by Tomochika. Late 19th century

A couple washing whilst the rat, which the man is trying to catch in a box, escapes over his shoulder. His wife meanwhile is drying her arms and hands with a towel. Very finely carved and nicely polished through wear. Some dark stained details.
