An ivory netsuke of armour (yoroi) on its box. 19th century

A very rare depiction of a samurai armour with moveable kabuto on the wooden box, which was used for storage, but which was also placed in the home for the owner to admire. A dragon head as maedate. Very finely carved, engraved with darkly accented details.
Height 5.6 cm
