A wood okimono netsuke of a rat on a mortar. Late 19th century

Using one leg to push down the handle, the pestle at the other end crushing the contents of the mortar. The rat’s eyes inlaid with black horn. Carved in detail, the hair finely engraved.
Height 3.6 cm; length 3.1 cm
