An ivory netsuke of a sparrow. Early 19th century

Of stylised form, the large eyes inlaid with black horn surrounded by finely engraved serrations. Wings and tail with dark accents. The feet in slight relief on the nicely patinated, golden yellow underside. Signed Genkô in an oval reserve.
