A large ivory seal netsuke. 19th century

A large signet (seal) carved from the tip of the tusk, depicting large, partly rotten lotus leaves, a bud with a long stem, and the whole crowned by an ascending turtle. The surface of the seal recessed with two indecipherable kanji. Beautiful, glassy patina.
