A Meissen porcelain sugar box with midnight blue ground

Oval box with a corresponding associated lid with a hare finial. Decorated with finely painted Chinoiseries in Stadler's characteristic polychromy in gilt rimmed quatrefoil reserves. Blue crossed swords mark, gold painter's mark 25. Restored over a horizontal breakage around the centre (possibly a firing flaw). Ash flecks. A minor chip to the lower rim of the lid. H with lid 9, W 13.2, D 11.4 cm.
Circa 1730, decor attributed to Johann Ehrenfried Stadler.
