Sulkowski-Ozier model. The well painted with a large coat of arms surrounded by the collar of the Russian Order of Saint Andrew. Below it, a cartouche bearing the motto OBSEQUIO ET CADORE (in obedience and honesty). Blue crossed swords mark with pronounced pommels, dreher's mark E for Johann Gottfried Eckoldt sen. Restored rim chip at 1 o'clock (yellowed), minor glaze wear. D 23.1 cm.
1738.

In his 1910 Festschrift, Karl Berling dates the service for Count Burchard Christoph von Münnich (1683 - 1767) to the year 1738. It is obvious that the models and decor are based on those used in the service for Count Sulkowski, developed between 1735 and 1737.
Münnch was a general field marshal in the courts of Augustus the Strong and Tsarina Elisabeth I of Russia, where he fell out of favour in 1741 and was banished to Siberia, but also in the court of Tsar Peter III, who pardoned him and allowed him to return to the post as general field marshal as well as director of Russia's harbours.
