A Silesian glass goblet with a portrait of Friedrich II

Round base with triangular pattern border supporting a faceted baluster shaft and a tapering cup issuing from a polygonal faceted join. The cup separated into four segments and decorated on the display side with a portrait of the king in an oval cartouche, the three other faces with courtship scenes in garden landscapes. The base chipped, the inside slightly matte. H 19.5 cm.
Schreiberhau/Szklarska Poreba, Preußler glassworks in Weißbach, attributed to Christian Gottfried or Samuel Schneider, circa 1740.
