A very large Augsburg silver gilt colombine cup

Round base with six embossed lobes supporting a pierced shaft and waisted cup with fine matte decor around two registers of large lobed motifs. The domed lid with conforming decor and a scroll finial. The inside of the lid inset with a gilt medal commemorating the Peace of Westphalia made in Leipzig by Sebastian Dadler in around 1650, with a depiction of the goddess Pax and the inscription "GOTT LOB DER UNS SO GÜTIG LIEBT, DEM KRIEGE WEHRT UND FRIDE GIBT" H 63 cm, weight 1,414 g.
Marks of Hans Endres, 1651 - 1654 .

Following recent research, this mark has been attributed to Endres by the "Archiv zur Augsburger Goldschmiedekunst", it is missing from Seling's publication.
