A Berlin KPM porcelain coffee pot and a milk jug with children at play

Model no. 908. All items with original lids. Decorated with scenes of children picking apples, feeding chickens and playing with a dog and a squirrel in oval medallions. Blue sceptre mark, incised I, impressed LI in a circle (milk jug), 4 (coffee pot). H coffee pot 14.3, H milk jug 10.5 cm.

Hannelore Plötz-Peters has identified the prototypes upon which the motifs that decorate these late 18th century pieces were based, namely drawings by the London based artist William Hamilton (1751 - 1801) that were engraved and reproduced by Francesco Bartolozzi (1727 - 1815) and Joseph Barney (1753 - 1832).
