A Strasbourg faience tureen with small bouquets "au gabarit"

Tureen designed for a new mother. With naturalistically painted branch handles and rosebud finial. Finely decorated with flowers based on contemporary porcelain designs and with "houndstooth" gilt borders in the manner of Meissen. Unmarked. The leaves and branches with small restored chips, some cracks. H 11.3, W 23.6 cm.
Paul Hannong period, c. 1748 - 54.
