An early Hachmann mortar with a “house mark”

Thinly cast bronze with honey brown patina. Decorated on the display side with a coat-of-arms bearing a “house mark” supported by two winged demi-figures. With a wide banderole below the rim inscribed in Gothic minuscule: “int iaer ons heren m vc lviii”. With two zoomorphic handles. The base slightly rounded due to use, horizontal cracks to both sides above the base, some minor dents around the rim. H 13, D 14.7 cm, weight c. 2 kg. With the original T-shaped pestle. L 20.2 cm.
