An early Hachmann mortar with dolphin handles

Golden brown cast bronze with natural patina (polished). Decorated on the display side with a vacant coat-of-arms supported by two winged demi-figures. With a broad banderole below the rim inscribed in Gothic minuscule: “anno domini m ccccc lviii?”. Some minor dents around the outer surface. H 12, D 13.3 cm, weight c. 2.4 kg. With corresponding bronze pestle. L 24 cm.
