An early dated Hachmann mortar

Golden brown cast bronze with chocolate brown patina. The display side decorated with a coat-of-arms bearing a “house mark” flanked by two putti. With a broad banderole below the rim inscribed in Gothic minuscule: “int iaer ons heren m vc lx”. With two zoomorphic handles. The rim with some minor dents, slight verdigris in the indentations. H 10.2, D 12.9 cm, weight c. 1.9 kg. Includes a corresponding bronze pestle with a node. L 19 cm.
