A small mortar with double-headed dragon handles

Golden brown cast bronze with natural patina. Decorated with several mouldings, the area below the protruding rim with a wide band of scrolling tendrils beneath a beaded frieze. The rim with a large banderole dated in Gothic minuscule: “anno m vc lvii”. With a horizontal crack running around almost the entire outer surface. H 11.8, D 12.8 cm, weight c. 2.1 kg. Includes a corresponding T-shaped pestle. L 18.2 cm.
