An Augsburg silver communion set

Comprising a wine and water jug and a tray. The urn-shaped pitchers with scroll handles and thumbrests formed from the letters A and V. With finely embossed Louis XVI decoration. The well of the tray engraved with a bishop's coat-of-arms. H of pitcher 12.6; L of tray 29; W 22 cm, total weight 628 g.
Marks of Caspar Xaver Stippeldey, 1791 - 1793.

Communion garnitures by Stippeldey can be found in the Main-Franconian Museum in Würzburg and in the silver collection of Augsburg Cathedral.
