A carved wood figure of the Christ Child, Mechelen, circa 1510/1520

Carved in the round, with partially overpainted older polychromy. A figure of the nude Christ Child standing in contrapposto with one hand raised in blessing and the other holding a globe. The underside of the integral plinth bears the mark of the city of Mechelen.
The globe reattached, otherwise in good condition. Height 32.5 cm (with plinth).
