A rare porcelain flower cup

Formed as a flowerhead with a butterfly for the handle. Unmarked. Minor glaze chips in the dark green areas, a minor rim chip. H 7.9 cm.
Attributed to Paris, 1st quarter 19th C.

This model, the "tasse Cobéa", was produced so successfully in Sèvres during the Empire period that both KPM in Berlin and the Imperial Viennese Manufactory adopted the form. Cups of this type by all three manufactories were sold in Lempertz Berlin Auction 1125, The Twinight Collection I, on 7th November 2018 (lots 67 - 69).
