Oil on canvas 61.5 x 46 cm Framed. Signed and dated 'E. Oppler. 08.' in brown lower left. Signed, titled and with the artist's postal address 'Ernst Oppler. Berlin W 64 Stilleben: China-Porzellan' on strecher label. - In fine condition.

“The porcelain objects are from Oppler's own collection, which he began assembling during his stay in London. He liked to insert them into his interiors as props: the Delft vase with a lid can thus be found in the self-portrait, for example (cat. no. G-42; see also G-54 and G-60), and the bowl on a base also appears in the picture 'Vertieft' (cat. no. G-53)” (Jochen Bruns, in: Ernst Oppler (1867-1929). Leben und Werk, CD-ROM, Köln 1997, G-61).
