An "émail de saxe" snuff box

Polychrome and white enamel on copper, relief gilding, black and pale blue counter enamel, gouache on parchment (?) under glass, vermeil mountings. Decorated with river landscapes in reserves amid fruit garlands, baskets of flowers, and putti; the lid with four children making music. Minor wear to the exterior, minor losses to the gilding, the counter enamel with more severe wear, the miniature with moisture damage. H 3, W 7.5, D 6 cm.
